Dark circles & under-eye

Tear-trough hollows, dark circles or thinning under-eye skin — gentler than filler, more targeted than a cream.

Why dark circles are usually not just one thing

Dark circles can be caused by pigmentation, by visible blood vessels through thin skin, by hollows that throw a shadow, or by a combination of all three. They look the same in the mirror but need different treatments.

Polynucleotides are the most recognised non-filler treatment for this area. Short DNA fragments injected into the skin stimulate your own repair processes — building back the collagen, elastin and structural support that thin under-eye skin tends to lose with age. The under-eye protocol works on thin skin, weak collagen and impaired healing in the tear-trough specifically.

We always start with a consultation to identify which type of dark circles you have and what treatment will actually help.

Our recommendation

Polynucleotides — Under-eye

Specialist under-eye polynucleotides — designed for thin, delicate lower-eyelid skin.

Stimulates skin repair and thickens the dermis around the eye area. Visible improvement after a course of 3, with no risk of the over-filled look that comes with tear-trough filler.

What our clients say

Reviews from real clients treated for dark circles & under-eye at Peonella.

★★★★★

"Had been considering tear-trough filler for years and was scared of it. The polynucleotides course was so much gentler — my dark circles are properly improved and I look rested."

"Six months of looking tired no matter how much I slept. Three sessions later I actually look like I am getting enough rest. Subtle but real."

"My dark circles were mostly pigmentation from years of sun. Liudmyla recommended Even Tone over polynucleotides — she was right, much more effective for my type."

Common questions

Is this the same as tear-trough filler?

No — and that is the point. Filler adds volume to a hollow; polynucleotides improve the skin itself. The result is healthier-looking skin, not a filled hollow. You do not get the puffy look that filler can sometimes cause.

Will it work for my type of dark circles?

It depends on the cause. We assess at consultation — if your circles are pigmentation-driven we would recommend DMK Even Tone instead. If they are structural (hollows + thin skin), polynucleotides are usually the right call.

Does it hurt?

Less than you would expect. The needles are very fine, topical numbing is available, and the under-eye area tolerates it well. Most clients describe a small pinch.

How long will the results last?

Typically 6-9 months after a completed course. Most clients top up with a single session annually.

Can I have this if I have filler?

Often yes, but timing matters. We need to know what filler is in place, when it was done, and where. Tell us at consultation.
